Carbon lamination, manual or vacuum?
Two different techniques can be used for carbon lamination, the manual or Hand Lay-up method, or the vacuum or Vacuum Bagging method.
- The Hand Lay-up method entails the progressive composition of the laminated product by manually positioning all the necessary layers in sequence, including laying the resin, which constitute the final lay-up.
- Instead, as regards the vacuum method (Vacuum Bagging), the laminated product composition process is the same, but with the use of a vacuum bag to compress the laminated layers during resin polymerization, allowing for an even distribution of the resin and of the fibers. This guarantees a coating in which the carbon fibers keep their distinctive esthetic effect, in addition to their elevated tensile strength.
